The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena has condemned a gruesome video where a woman is beheaded currently circulating on social media.
According to police spokesperson, Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone, the video surfaced about a month ago in which an unknown male can be seen beheading a naked woman while two other bodies are lying in a grave.
“A few days ago, the video was recirculated with text suggesting that the incident occurred in Vryburg.” The video is currently also circulating in Hartbeespoort and Brits with text messages indicating that the incident happened in these towns.
The police said no such incidents have been reported.
“Members of the community are once more urged to use social media responsibly and to refrain from sharing unverified information that creates unnecessary fear amongst our communities,” he said.
